Wendy Pendleton: Owner/Director
Wendy has worked with children for 21 years. She had a daycare in her home for 13 and a half years before opening her center Bear Essentials Academy in Taylorsville. Wendy has her CDA in infant and toddler care
She is a mother of 5 and has 3 grandsons. She loves children and spending time with them daily. Wendy has her Child Development Associates and continues her education in child development by taking many classes. Wendy has completed her endorsements in infant and toddler, guidance and emotional wellness, touch points and also in preschool age children. She is currently working on school age readiness.
Wendy has training in special needs, and finds this area of care very rewarding. Wendy strongly believes in positive reinforcement and the benefits it provides each child. Self esteem is taught and encouaged in each classroom
She promises to provide your child with the best care possible in a clean, safe, loving environment. Your child's developmental success is her priority.
Brittney Futch: 1st Assistant Director
Brittney is Wendy's oldest daughter. She has grown up in the day care setting most of her life. She loves children and teaching them. Brittney has two little boys who are the joy of her life. Brittney has her Child Development Associates and is currently working on her endorsements for infant and toddlers. Brittney loves learning about children and she is always continuing her education in child development
Sue Petterborg: Toddler Teacher
Sue helped us open our program back in the summer of 2008. She started in our infant room, has worked in the two year old room, and now works in our toddler room. Sue love her class room and shows pride in her work.
Brooke Taylor: Head toddler teacher
Brooke has always enjoyed being around children, so
it seemed only natural to get a job at a daycare. She started with us in Sept. 2010.Brooke has her bachelors in H.D.S.F with an emphasis in Early child hood Education. Brooke works in our infant toddler program.Wendy Jones: Cook & 2nd Assistant Director
Wendy Jones has worked for Bear Essentials Academy since 2008. She has taught in many different rooms. Wendy loves everything about working in a child development program. Wendy is a mother of 4 and has 8 grandchildren. She continues her education to provide quality care.
Cindy Vandenboss: A.M. Head Infant Teacher
Cindy started with our program in Sept 2008.
She has been in the infant room ever since she started..Cindy loves those babies and they love her right back. Cindy has two little girsl of her own and loves being able to work where she can bring her little ones. Cindy says working with children has helped her to be a better mother.Kenzie Turner: 2 year Teacher
Kenzie works with our two year olds. She devotes her day in taking such sweet care of the little ones Kenzie works full time at our program. Kenzie started with us in Jan 2012. She
hopes to be a mom one day .Kenzie likes to sit and play right along with her class, She is currently working on her infant and toddler indorsment.
Stephanie Davis: Infant and Toddler Teacher
Stephanie has been employed with us since 2009. She attends community college part-time. She loves working with children and looks forward to coming to work each day. Stephanie has many talents and traits that she shares with the children. The children in her classroom really enjoy having her as their teacher. Stephanie true passion is working with our youngest children She works with our infants.
Stephanie Drawe: School Aged Teacher
Karen Wolf: Assistant cook
Karen is Wendy’s sister and she has
been with the program since April of 2009. She is the cook. The
children love her spaghetti the most. Karen helps out wherever needed when
she is not cooking. Karen has wanted to retire but loves the children to much, so she continues to work one day a week just to continue to see the children.
Alexis Asay: Preschool Teacher
Alexis is new at Bear Essentials Academy. She joined us in September of 2014. She has past experience working with the Montessori Preschool. She has brought many great ideas to our program. The children love her and are excited for her enthusiasm Alexis will be starting her own family soon. She contributes her love for children is based on the experiences she has had being a teacher.
Alyssa Petters
Alyssa joined our facility in April 2018. She has been a great asset to our program. She has one little boy and enjoys working here with the little ones.
Shannon has been with us since August 2015. She loves teaching our kindergarten class. Shannon has many great ideas to help make learning fun. She has started a program called Senior to Child. This is a opportunity for our kindergarten students to go to the senior center and do arts and crafts with the seniors. The benefits of this program are amazing. Self esteem grows in both the children and seniors during these visits.
Samantha is our newest employee, she started with Bear Essentials Academy in March of 2016. She has added such joy to our program. She is currently working with our toddlers. She has many great ideas to promote a fun learning environment.
Tiffany works in each classroom, she is a teachers aid. She has been employed with us since 2013. Tiffany loves children and really enjoys her job. Tiffany says working with children keeps her young and energetic.
